Name
Rob Inett (That’s pronounced ‘eye-net’ you know!)

Year of birth 1982

Main cycling activities
Road TT and Triathlon relay legs.

Hobbies outside of cycling (knitting etc)
Rowing, swimming, diving, board paddling, power-boating, studying for my Masters Degree, re-building my house etc

Best cycling moment
Probably the first ‘race’ I ever did, a relay leg of a triathlon in Nottingham with my best mate Fletch, a current GB triathlete. It’s all about camerarderie and banter. I’m very much a team person. I only had my first bike in March 2010, apart from a baby bike when I was a kid, so it was good to not let him down.

Worst cycling moment
Crashing at 55mph going down a hill in Reading. Took 3 months for my leg to stop hurting, but we laugh at it now.

Favorite food
Steak.

Best excuse for poor performance
Cramp in legs – but it’s always the truth! And I spent this, my first season, clearly not training at decent intensities.

Favorite music
Chris Rea

Training tip
Make sure that you enjoy what you are doing, but try and stick to a good plan. You need rest more than you think.

Carbon or Titanium?
Aluminium because that’s all I can afford, although carbon wheels make a nice sound!

Turbo or Road?
Neither – Wattbike!

What have we missed? Family, partners, pets, obsessions?

I used to row a lot, but I’m getting too old for it now. Live alone in Poole. Crew on Poole Lifeboat.
