Name           Adam D’Arcy-Wykes

Year of birth           1971

Main cycling activities (TT, cyclocross, track etc)          Track,  TTs,  Road.

Hobbies outside of cycling (knitting etc)           Indoor Rowing.

Best cycling moment

Winning a bronze in the National Team Pursuit in 1989 (Winners were Manchester Wheelers, Boardman, Sword, O’Brien and Curran).

Riding round Leicester Track with Francesco Moser.

Worst cycling moment

Getting disqualified from the 1987 National Schoolboy Pursuit after winning by 10 seconds. I’d changed a tub after a puncture and then was over-geared by less than half and inch.

Also, crashing in the Market Harborough town centre crits every year on the same corner!!

Favorite food          Italian.

Best excuse for poor performance   I think my rear spindle is broke!

Favorite music        Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine

Training tip       Eat while you’re strong and make sure you get plenty of rest.

Carbon or Titanium?   Carbon! It’s sexier!!

Turbo or Road?    Both

What have we missed? Family, partners, pets, obsessions?

Thanks to my wife for putting up with my obsessions, and my Dad for getting me into the sport by telling me stories of when he and his brother raced in Belgium, and then running me all over the country season after season on his one day off a week.
