I received this by email on the 4th of August 2006. As webmaster you do tend to receive all sorts of special offers mostly relating to dealing with sexual inadequacy and sizing problems....... Therefore the usual response is large doses of the delete key and spam filtering. This particular offer looks fantastic and I have seen several other people mentioning this location in glowing terms. Therefore after a bit of a delay I have posted the full content of the Email for you pleasure.

Our friend, Andre La Bouchardiere, has suggested that we contact you in your capacity as Webmaster for Poole Wheelers, with a view to help publicise our facilities and group offers to your members.  Andre suggested that it might be possible for you to create a link to our website and also maybe put an article in the Poole Wheelers newsletter.

We have purchased an old farmhouse, VeloPyrenees, which is a cycling and multi-sport guest house set in the heart of the French Pyrenees, run by athletes for athletes.

Our guest house is ideally situated in a small village in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains and offers a wide variety of cycling straight from the door.  To the north, there is a great network of virtually traffic free roads on gently undulating terrain - great for long endurance rides, recovery rides or speed endurance sessions.  To the South there are many cols including those made famous by the Tour de France (col du Portillion, des Ares, Portet d'Aspet, Peyresourde, col de Mente, Aspin, Tourmalet etc).  Southwards also takes you to the Spanish border at Fos which is about 25km away allowing you to cycle in the Val d'Aran before re-crossing the border.

Many of the Pro cycle teams use this area for training, so chances are, you could be training alongside them.

We provide accommodation for a maximum of 8 people, thus ensuring guests are well looked after.  Our accommodation, all single beds, is split as 2 person with ensuite, 2 person with bathroom and 4 person (split between 2 rooms) with ensuite.  All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities.  We have secure bike storage, bike workshop and bike wash facilities.

For 2007, we are offering a package for groups of 6 to 8 people of £99 per person for 7 nights bed and breakfast accommodation.  We can also provide evening meals (3 courses, wine and tea or coffee) for 15 Euros per person.  We can advise you on suitable routes for your group, provide ride profiles and maps and also ride with you/ guide if you would like.  This offer is valid from April 2007 until October 2007.

We believe that this area offers a great variety of cycling terrain, so there is something to suit all abilities and all aspects of the training year from base to competition.

We hope that you and your members would be interested in visiting our guest house, whether it be for pre-season training in April / May, or to take part in one of the many popular Cyclosportive events or for an end of season wind down. There are several big events that pass by us including the Tour de France, Route de Sud and Tour de Pyrenees.

Further information can be found on our website http://www.velopyrenees.com/

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further information and we hope that you can arrange to have a link to our site and also advise your members of our group package.

We look forward to hearing from you shortly.

Yours in Sport
